How do you keep a stray dog off of front porch furniture?
This dog only comes on the porch at night or during the day when no one is there. We don't want to use any kind of spray on the furniture. The dog is not tearing the cloth, but making it dirty. Everytime we go to relax on the porch, we have end of cleaning it off.

I would just let him...he needs love and a place to sleep:( Poor dog...leave him a treat next time.
I would adopt him!! give him all the love you have!!
call the dog pound
Can you take the pillows off when you are away?? That way the poor guy has somewhere to relax and rest up, and you can bring your pillow out when you want to use the porch?!
can u call animal control and have it picked up? If not sprinkle some hot pepper like jalapeno around the porch
bitter apple spray works wonders. also aluminum foil on the funiture (i've used this indoors with several dogs. they get on it once and never do it again).
1. Get him his own cushion, blanket or something else to rest on.
2. Leave a bowl of water and some snacks by his new resting spot.
3. When you catch him in the act give him a nice bath with flea shampoo - he'll love you for it and it'll help keep your porch clean.
4. At that stage you'll be growing more attached to him so put a collar on him so that the dog catchers don't take him away and kill him.
What harm can it do? He's resting there when you're not home anyway so you're a good heart for helping this tired and pitiful lonely creature in need of some small comforts. Who knows, maybe you'll have a new best friend - no doubt he'd welcome that!

Buy a plastic mat for an office (the ones to put roller chairs on). They have small, roughly 1/4" plastic spikes on the bottom of them. Turn it upside down and set it on the furniture. It doesn't hurt the dog but it will be too uncomfortable to want to lay on.
there this thing that keeps dogs of you can call animal control or block the entrence to your porchand BTW how do you know its a dog if your not there ??
install a fence
Can you tilt the furniture and lean it against a wall?I would try doing that with its favorite chair. If you like to sit on the furniture in the evening spray the furniture with water at night. They don't care for wet stuff to sleep on.I have no patience for strays and I would get rather teed if I had one on my furniture.Good luck with it...
