How do you make a dog stop licking furniture?
My Boston Terrier is 2 years old and was the runt of the litter and bottle fed. She now has a terrible habit of licking everything; car windows, furniture, your face, blankets, other dogs, you name it. It is constant and driving us crazy, even though she is very sweet. We've tried chewies and toys, nothing works. Any ideas?

Give him some nuts
Find him something else to lick
Buy some "Bitter Apple" spray at any pet store. It tastes awful and they will leave it alone. That is what I use for my catshouselhold plants.
wow I have the same problem!!!!
let me know when you find out

SPANK HIM AND TELL HIM NO
Thats funny because my male poodle is 8 and he also licks furniture, bed sheets, pillows and carpet..I can't understand why he does this..
A product called "Bitter Apple" tends to work for most dogs. However, if your dog is a chronic licker, like mine, then he'll lick the bitter apple as well...which smells a lot like rubbing alcohol.
Try applying something bitter but edible on some of his favourite licking objects.
buy a doberman
put some chilli on some of the things he licks... he will lick them only once more...
also have a bowl of water near by.,.. :P

paying for stuff is unecessary.
I used a chilli pepper with the very top cut off with my rottweiler and it stopped her very quickly.
Make sure also that if you catch her licking or chewing, to tap her gently on the nose with your finger.

There is this spray you can purchase at pet stores im not sure what its called but it comes in sour or bitter flavors that are not very palatable for pets. this might be your best option. I dont think licking is much of a problem, he just likes to lick. I would be more concerned i he had a chewing problem
