How do you keep a dog off the furniture?
My dog gets on my couch and loveseat the minute I leave or go to bed, and he is shedding so much. I tried the sprays and they don't work. I want new furniture but don't want him on it. I think whoever owned him before let him, he did it immediately when we got him. Any serious help would be appreciated. So far some good answers, but my dog does have a dog bed which he uses all day while I'M HOME!!! I ASKED what to do for times when I'm out or in bed and he does it. First answer was good, if none better, you got the points.

How do you make a dog stop licking furniture?
My Boston Terrier is 2 years old and was the runt of the litter and bottle fed. She now has a terrible habit of licking everything; car windows, furniture, your face, blankets, other dogs, you name it. It is constant and driving us crazy, even though she is very sweet. We've tried chewies and toys, nothing works. Any ideas?

How do you keep a stray dog off of front porch furniture?
This dog only comes on the porch at night or during the day when no one is there. We don't want to use any kind of spray on the furniture. The dog is not tearing the cloth, but making it dirty. Everytime we go to relax on the porch, we have end of cleaning it off.
I would just let him...he needs love and a place to sleep:( Poor dog...leave him a treat next time. See More

Can you help with my dog and furniture conflict?
What types of furniture fabric are best when you have dogs? The fabric must be durable (resistant to claw punctures and rips) and also it must not attract dog hair or dirt. Is there anywhere in particular that specializes in this type of furniture or has slip covers of this material? (Note: I don't want leather because my dogs will probably think it's a chew toy. And of course getting furniture the same color as your dog's hair is something I'm willing to try. I enjoy having my dogs sit on the couch with me so simply training them to stay off is not an option I'm willing to consider.)

How to keep an adult dog off furniture?
Just adopted an adut dog a week ago. His previous owners used to let him on the furniture, we put chairs on the couch and the chaise so it blocks him from going up. Any advice on keeping him off the furniture? One day I had come home and he was on the furniture with the chair that was supposed to block him from going up. Any advice would greatly be appreciated. Does dog off furniture spray really work?
Even though our 9 year old lab has 2 nice beds, she prefers the sofa when we're at work. If I don't need to spend $$$ on a scat mat, that would be great. The more cost effective solution I've found is the No-Stay Furniture Spray (for Dogs): http://www.bestfriendsdelivery.com/petorganicsnostaydog16.html For those who have tried it/use it: does it work? I saw mixed reviews online.
spray didn't work for me. putting loose newspapers all over the furniture often does work. They don't usually like the sound. See More

How to keep a dog off the furniture?
We recently acquired a very large dog (Great Dane) from a local shelter. He is a very nice dog and very well behaved, but at his old homes he was allowed to sleep and lay on the couches. We, on the other hand, do not approve of such a large animal taking over all our furniture. What training methods should we use to discourage him?
Beat his ass. make a loud noise every time he gets on the furniture and reward him. See More

Dog having trouble getting in and out of house?
I have an older dog who has recently started having trouble getting in and out of the house with the dog door. He is still able to use the back door that is slightly lower. We made a platform that is the same height as the back door but he is still having trouble. Right now we are letting him in and out but this isn't working at night. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! He's otherwise in good health so putting him down due to our own inconvenience is not an option. He has been on Arthritis medicine (Rimadayl) for a few years now so the condition is not new unless he now has a new problem. When the vet opens again on Monday, we will definitely give him a call.
If you haven't already taken him to a vet about this, I would start there. My dog is 16 and I've been through this with him too. He's ... See More

How/where can I build/buy a cheap exercise pen for a rabbit or dog?
I'm going to foster a rabbit from the Humane Society and they will provide me with a cage, but I need some sort of exercise pen so I can give it some unsupervised exercise and not worry about it chewing on all of my furniture or cords. I want to potentially just use it as a gate and block it in the kitchen (the only place with no carpet) initially until I make sure it is litter box trained and then let it loose in part of the house. Basically, I want something that will stand by itself but I can also change the shape. I want to use it as a gate to block off part of the room and as a closed pen. Anyone have any suggestions? Since I’m just fostering the bunny, I don’t want to buy an expensive puppy pen but I also don’t want something the bunny will chew through or end up eating and causing harmful side effects (I worry about cheap plastic). Anyone have any ideas on what will be flexible and inexpensive? I’m also not sure how large the bunny will be, so I need something that is probably at least 24” or 36” high. I’m completely clueless as to what I can use aside from buying a semi-expensive puppy pen. Let me know if you have any ideas! The cheaper (and simpler) the better.

is there a website where you can modify your own vehicle; rims, wheels, suspension, etc?
I would like to find a website that maybe had a database of vehicles and accessories so that I might be able to see what rims, tires and possibly even suspension lift would look good on my truck. (Black 94 GMC Yukon GT 4wd) A guy asked a similar question on this same q&a forum but it was a couple of years old. I figured that since more time had passed there might be some new ones available that someone may know about. Thanks.
