should i make the door just offset or should i make a wall so the dog would go in the door then turn in like a u turn then be in its bedding area so the wind wouldnt reach them as easly? thx

I was looking on ebay for an outdoor dog bed and stumbled upon one that looked like it was just made out of pvc pipe and outdoor fabric. Since times are hard and i don't have 70 bucks to throw down for something like that i was hoping someone crafty could just give me some ideas. the only thing i can't figure out is how to best connect the fabric to the pvc. i couldn't tell from the picture how they did it. thank you so much and have a wonderful day.

Why Do Sponge Dog Beds Drive Dogs Crazy? And WHY do they keep putting sponge in most dog beds? Every breed of dog I have ever had wants to tear up, and sometimes eat the sponge in her or his dog bed? Is it the petroleum base used for sponge? I have to use a wool blanket or an outdoor dog bed with natural chips inside to have it last more than a week.

I want to put some bedding in my outdoor dog house to help with the wet and/or cold for my dog, but we have lots of spiders in our back yard and don't want to attract them into his dog house. Any suggestions?

since my dog was a pup (hes nearly 2 now), hes stayed inside and slept inside with me but i still trained him to do his business outside. with a baby soon on the way id rather have him stay primarily outside now but im having troubles. iv bought him a doggie house and put all his toys and bed but he cries and howls all day unless someone sits with him. any tips? would appreciate it

Our dog has this big pillow that fits perfectly inside his igloo doghouse. Sometimes he pulls the giant pillow out of the house and just sleeps on it. He doesnt chew it up or rip it in any way. It seems like he just likes sleeping out in the open. Because of this I bought an outdoor dog bed/hammock which he loves. But he still pulls the pillow out still. What can i do about this??

My new Border Collie will be living outside in a huge kennel and run that we bought for him to sleep in at night. I have put a dog bed in the kennel, its a waterproof flat bed, big enough for him to sleep on. It is his first night tonight and I am concerned he won't be warm enough. Should I put some blankets in there too? I live in the UK and it is spring time at the moment. Advice needed. Thanks. My ex partner had police dogs who lived in an outside kennel, my uncle is a farmer and his dogs sleep in a barn. There is nothing wrong with dogs living outside it doesn't mean I love him or spend less time with him.

They are indoor & outdoor dogs, I just don't like them in the house when I'm not home (like 5 hours a day) or at night. They have a 10'x5' kennel with dog beds in my insulated, heated garage at a constant 55-60 degrees. When it gets cold outside, my girlfriend FREAKS out when I put them in their kennel at night. I personally think they are probably more comfortable there than in the 70 degree house.

Due to parent rules. i will be able to get a dog (a malamute) but i must keep it outside. I will buy it a heated dog bed, i will let it sleep in garage during the winter, it will have tons of shade during the summer cuz im up in the woods.. why do people think this is a horrible idea? i think dogs would much rather perfer being one with nature rather then being cooped up in a house.. AND i wont chain the dog, it will hav an electric fence over like 5 acres of land or something

I have an outdoor dog, and there's no way he'll be inside so don't waste my time telling me to put him in. Anyway, I want to keep him warm, what are some good ways to keep him warm? I can't use towels or blankets or dog beds because he tears them up in a matter of minutes! Also, he chews EVERYTHING so he'd shock himself if he chewed an electric blanket.
